Urgent Care Delivered Fast

With our smart urgent care option, your team members can access the care they need to treat common health issues, right when they need it. The sooner they receive treatment, the sooner they can see improved health – and that means fewer sick days.

Virtual urgent care

When team members choose smart urgent care, they will answer a series of questions. If symptoms match an AI protocol, a doctor will review, diagnose, prescribe and upload a treatment plan to the app, without the need for a visit. If the doctor wants to talk with the member, or if the member prefers to talk to a doctor, a phone or video appointment is initiated before the treatment plan is completed.

Frequently asked questions

Q: When are asynchronous consults used? Isn’t it important to talk to a doctor?

A: Asynchronous consults are clinical protocols approved by doctors. On average 75% of the time a doctor can diagnose, recommend treatment and prescribe (if medically necessary), based on the doctor reviewing the intake form the member submits.

Q: Is there a time limit on visits?

A: No, there is no time limit with your smart urgent care visit.

Q: Where is the treatment plan following the visit?

A: Open the app, click on your book (the three lines on the top left-hand side of the Home Screen) and select “Visits.” You can then view the “Visit and Treatment Plan” and any prescribed medications. Notify us of any challenges via the “Support” button in the app.

Q: What if clarification is needed after a virtual visit? Are doctors accessible?

A: If you completed a visit and would still like to speak with a doctor, please start a new visit and when choosing the reason for this visit, scroll to the bottom and choose, “can’t find what you’re looking for.” Then choose “connect to a doctor.” This will allow you to connect via a phone call or video call so you can have a conversation.

Q: Can medical forms, such as work excuses, be completed for members?

A: Yes. During the smart care process, members can indicate that they need a work excuse. The work excuse is uploaded to the app along with the treatment plan.

Q: Will my information be safe?

A: The PDH portal is HIPAA and HITECH compliant. It’s also HITRUST certified, ensuring your data is safe and secure.

Q: How does a prescribed medication get to the pharmacy?

A: To electronically send a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice, click on your book (three lines on the top left-hand side) on the Home Screen and select “Visits.” Scroll to the bottom of your treatment plan to see any medications you are prescribed. Click on “send this prescription to a pharmacy.” The app will search for the best-priced meds in your ZIP code (or you can easily change the ZIP code if needed). Then the app will produce your Rx discount voucher. Don’t forget to show it to the pharmacist, right off your phone.

Q: What if we need to move a prescription to a different pharmacy?

A: If you are staying with the same pharmacy chain and simply moving the script from one location to another, you can easily contact the pharmacy and have the medication moved to your location (for example, if you’re moving from one Walgreens to another Walgreens). We can also support you by moving your medication for you as well by clicking the “Support” button in the app.

If you are not staying within the same pharmacy chain, let us know via the “Support” button in the app. We will contact the first pharmacy to cancel your prescription there and then contact the new pharmacy to fill the script (for example, if you’re moving from a CVS to a Walgreens).
